What lights you up?
SPARK is a free after-school drop-in center where teens belong. Adventure, creativity, connection — and people who genuinely care.
On its face, SPARK is a cool, fun place for teens to hang out after school. Skateboarding, art, swimming, music, mountain biking — there's always something happening.
But if you look a little closer, you'll find something more. SPARK is a place where we believe that it's the relationships that matter most. Every kid who steps through our door deserves to know, beyond a doubt, that people here care about them.
SPARK is kindness. SPARK is compassion. SPARK is where you belong.
There's something for everyone. New activities added every week — keep checking back.
Mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, paddleboarding, snowboarding, and more.
Guitar, drumming, and School of Rock sessions for all skill levels.
Painting, drawing, and creative projects — no experience required.
Video games, role-playing, and tabletop games in a low-key, social space.
Fishing, archery, fly fishing, skateboarding, and time in the great outdoors.
Basketball, baaga'adowewin, kickball, theater, improv, and puppetry.
New events and activities are added every week. Reserve your spot up to two days in advance — spots are limited so don't wait.
SPARK offers the Strengthening Families program for families with children ages 7–17. These are hands-on, practical sessions — not lectures. Parents leave with real skills they can use.
Childcare may be available. Snacks and a light meal are provided each session. Stipends available for participants.

SPARK is a community partnership. None of this happens without these organizations.
SPARK is made possible with a generous grant from the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families — Brighter Futures Initiative.
We're at the south end of the Ashland Area Enterprise Center. The entrance faces the Bretting Center's outdoor skatepark. It might not look like much from the outside — but inside is something special.
